Joshua Dean Hunter has been writing and creating music since the age of seven. After learning guitar at a young age, he discovered digital music production at fourteen, beginning a journey that would eventually become the foundation of his work as Joshua Dean.
Over the years, he created music for events, individuals, and smaller projects while continually evolving his sound. In 2016, he released an EP under a different name before stepping away from public releases for several years.
Behind the scenes, the music never stopped.
In 2021, Joshua returned with “Behind the Horizon,” his first single as Joshua Dean. In 2022, that momentum led to an offer of a record contract from a Brazilian record label. Joshua ultimately declined the offer, choosing to retain the rights to his own music and the creative freedom to continue making music on his own terms. In May 2024, after eight years without an album, he released “1/2” — a 12-song full-length album featuring his brother, EVERETT, as a collaborating artist.
In January 2025, Joshua released “WONDERLAND,” a track that captured a more distinct sense of his artistic identity.
In May 2025, Joshua released SHUFFLE, Pt. I, an EP that returned to two of the musical roots that have shaped his work from the beginning: country and electronic music. The project brought those influences back into the center of his sound, creating a bridge between where the music began and where it continues to go.
The music has changed. The pursuit hasn't.
